The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians – HAAM helps musicians and other music industry professionals get health insurance that they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise. Typically, HAAM would have fundraisers all year long, including HAAM Day in September. Not this year.

HAAM is facing a shortfall of about $1M. They are doing everything in their power to fill that gap. Otherwise, 50% of local musicians might lose out on HAAM’s services.

This week, songwriter Kate Howard will be hosting a HAAM fundraiser — Thursday, July 2nd, at 6:00 — on her musician page on Facebook – KateHowardMusic. Entitled “Music Heals”, she’ll be joined by two talented friends, Kevin McKinney (Soulhat) and Andrea Dawson.

Kate writes “We have been graced with an anonymous donor who will match funds up to $750. Please join us. Don’t give till it hurts. Give till it feels good.”
