1. Sultry Saxon Nights
2. Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is
3. Band of the Month
4. On The Green

1. It’s week four or five of the latest Kevin McKinney Band, comprised of the almost now usual suspects of Lewis Meyers and Darrin Murphy (and the steadiest of steady thumpers of Johnny “Flying” V). Last weeks Tuesday night regulars had the pleasure of watching Larry’s harpman Ricky “Don’t Call Me Shroder” blow through a few rocking numbers, once again reminding the old school Saxonites of the epic John Popper nights Winter/Spring 2002. See who shows up TONIGHT at the Saxon, 10p.

2. If you haven’t heard about the Austin City Limits Festival, I have to wonder where you have been. Well, it’s a doozey of festival that’ll be at Zilker Park with six, count ’em, six stages to boot. So, the challenge among us, which stage will Kevin be performing on? Between now and the time they announce the official line up, we’re taking bets. I’ll get back to yall with odds and such after consulting the Isle of McVein Gambling Handbook, until then, let me know which stage you think the Hole in Four Band will be doing that rock and roll thing they do so well. http://www.aclfestival.com/home.html http://www.aclfestival.com/stages.html

3. Just when you think you have had enough of McVein, the man, the myth, the Skinny McKinney will be featured in the upcoming InSite Magazine. The local entertainment rag followed Kevin on his solo tour with Ian Moore. Get the lowdown on that adventure, as well as whatever else was going through Kevin’s head at the time. You can pick up InSite at most of your favorite restaurants and record stores. If you happen by Waterloo or Tower Records, don’t forget to pick up a copy of “McVein In Green” – check the ‘locals’ bin.

4. Okay folks, we’re going pro on you this week. Mark Blakemore had this to say about hitting off the tee, “Many of my tips include a reference to keeping your hands relaxed rather than tight. This is much easier to do if the grips on your clubs are in good condition.”
