New album due

New album update: the LP will be released within the next three months, and more “acoustic in flavor.” No word on tracks, yet, but more details are on the way.

Reflecting the return to this arrangement, Soulhat has been sporting acoustic guitars on stage, exclusively, since the Saxon Pub show last November. No word on how long this change will last, but if you go to check them out, beware that the sound may be a little different than you’ve heard them over the past year.

We heard it again on Jan. 15 at Stubb’s, and give the new sound a big ‘thumbs up.’ It’s lively, restless, and you get a much better feel for the dynamics of the music than you do with the heavy electric sound. It’s still plenty loud, so don’t y’all worry about that.
