This week, don’t forget this to head on downtown to see Kevin at the official Friday Happy Hour on 6/18, at the Lucky Lounge-Austin (209 W 5th St) from 6-8pm. Free Pizza rolls from Austin’s Pizza and a spectacularly good time.

Though it hasn’t appeared on the official Antone’s site yet, there is another internet listing for a Soulhat gig there on Friday 5/28. Opening the show are Honky, Deadman, Bruce Smith. We’ll let you know when the date has been confirmed.

Update: the show is now listed on the Antone’s web site. You can buy tickets or read more about it on their website. Doors at 8, show at 9. With three opening acts, we’d look for Soulhat at about midnight.

Founded in 2006, Explore Austin combines the benefits of mentoring and outdoor adventure in a six-year program for 6th through 12th grade inner-city youth. Explore Austin’s mission is to provide opportunities for inner-city youth to develop the skills, tools, and habits they will need to become effective leaders.

You can show your support for the program – and see a great show that includes Kevin McKinney – on Thursday, May 6, 2010, from 6-9 pm at Shoreline Grill, 98 San Jacinto Blvd. in Austin. If you’re in Austin, don’t pass up a chance to hear Kevin McKinney perform at the Carousel Lounge, Saturday April 10, 1110 E. 52nd Street (512-452-6790). Lil’ Cap’n Travis opens the show at 9:30pm.

More upcoming shows: How could Friday Happy Hours get any happier? You can see Kevin downtown every 1st and 3rd Friday at The Lucky Lounge-Austin (209 W 5th St) from 6-8pm. Confirmed for sure on April 16 and May 6.

For those of you who might be traveling to Austin on June 3, you can see the Kevin McKinney Band perform on the main stage at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. The free show starts at 3:30pm and ends about two hours later. Live music performances are located on the secure side of the concourse, accessible to ticketed passengers only. Performances are made possible through the Department of Aviation in cooperation with Delaware North.

Kevin will also perform at The Hole in the Wall (2538 Guadalupe St) at 11pm on May 12. For all the latest check out Kevin’s Facebook page.

Houston’s amazing Discovery Green has announced its spring music lineup, and you’ll find Soulhat there on May 20. The weekly (through June) “Concerts on the Green,” are FREE. This is an early show: 6:30-8 p.m. Discovery Green is located across Avenida de las Americas from the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas Hotel.
