News Updates

John Popper joined the band on harmonica, again, last night at the Saxon Pub. The band played a full 2-hour electric set with John on stage for all but two songs. But for those of you inclined to think this might be a regular thing (after last week’s appearance), remember that SXSW is over soon and Blues Traveler plays Stubb’s BBQ on 3/21 (9:30 p.m.). Guess they’ll have to find a new harmonica player ;). Here are some more items…

SXSW: Soulhat performs at the Loophole Entertainment showcase in the newly reopened Steamboat in Austin on 3/14. The showcase also includes Guy Forsyth, Chris Duarte, and Eric Johnson / Alien Love Child. Soulhat performs in the last showcase slot, at 1 a.m. Remember, SXSWers: badges, then wristbands, THEN folks in line. Good luck.

NEW RECORD: the word on the new LP from Kevin McKinney is that it will be released during April on SHAT Records. The title is “The Man in Green” and it will feature 11 songs, including old favorites like ‘Five Dollar Man’ and ‘City People’ & new ones, too (often heard at the Weds. night Flipnotics gigs) like ‘Rot with You’ and ‘The Goodtime Song.’ More as we hear about it.

UPCOMING GIGS: include Soiled Dove, Denver, CO (3/30), Storyville, Durango, CO (4/1), Double Diamond, Aspen, CO (4/4), & Tug Boat, Steamboat Springs, CO (4/5-6). The free Wednesday night shows at Flipnotics Coffeespace are over for now, but could resume in late Spring following the Colorado run.
