Batfest!, Will feature Arts, Crafts, Music, Food, Bat Watching, Children’s Activities, and Educational Displays. Estimated attendance is around 40,000! With Scenic backdrop of Town Lake and downtown Austin. Come out and see between 1.5 and 2 million Mexican Free Tail Bats while shopping for creative items made in Austin. See over 20 bands on two stages. Soulhat performs at 8pm on the North Stage. For more information, go here.

Doors at 9, show at 10. No opening act announced yet, but there will most likely be one before too long.

Update: the show is now listed on the Antone’s web site. You can buy tickets or read more about it on their website. Doors at 8, show at 9. With three opening acts, we’d look for Soulhat at about midnight.

Lil’ Cap’n Travis opens the show at 9:30pm.

More upcoming shows: How could Friday Happy Hours get any happier? You can see Kevin downtown every 1st and 3rd Friday at The Lucky Lounge-Austin (209 W 5th St) from 6-8pm. Confirmed for sure on April 16 and May 6.

For those of you who might be traveling to Austin on June 3, you can see the Kevin McKinney Band perform on the main stage at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. The free show starts at 3:30pm and ends about two hours later. Live music performances are located on the secure side of the concourse, accessible to ticketed passengers only. Performances are made possible through the Department of Aviation in cooperation with Delaware North.

Kevin will also perform at The Hole in the Wall (2538 Guadalupe St) at 11pm on May 12. For all the latest check out Kevin’s Facebook page.

The release is called A: Enlightenment, B: Endarkenment, Hint: there is no C and features Soulhat’s own Bill Cassis on guitar. Its very worth checking out. The CD is available on Hubbard’s web site, as well as Amazon and other online retailers.

    From Amazon: “With a keen eye for observation and a wise man’s knowledge, Ray Wylie Hubbard composes and performs a dozen songs that couldn’t spring from anywhere else but out of his fertile Rock ‘n’ Roll bluesy poet-in-the-blistering-heat southern noggin. The writing and recording of A. Enlightenment B. Endarkenment came on the heels of Hubbard’s screenplay endeavor, which was funded and filmed with a cast of icons including Kris Kristopherson, Dwight Yoakam, and Lizzy Caplan. A weekly radio show, constant touring, and producing kept him busy, but didn’t manage to steal the Texan singer/songwriter’s focus. The outcome of the album is a juxtaposition of songs like ‘Four Horseman Of The Apocalypse,’ a fundamental Gospel piece, and ‘Drunken Poet’s Dream,’ a co-write with Hayes Carll.”
