The Austin Chronicle finally got around to reviewing the “Live at the Black Cat Lounge” reissue this week. Its not a terribly cogent analysis, but the AC does deserve credit for finally noticing the CD, which has been in stores since early December. On Saturday March 13, catch Soulhat along with Davíd Garza and Phil Pritchett at the Granada Theater in Dallas. The show follows the Dallas Observer-sponsored Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade gets underway at 11am, followed by a whole day of music including live reggae on the patio (no cover) starting around 12:30, followed by Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, Fever in the Funkhouse and Topaz inside the theater at 1pm. Soulhat closes the evening part of the show (doors at 7pm, Soulhat on stage at 10:30). General admission tickets are only $5.00 in advance but note that all these shows are Ages 21+ (it is St. Patrick’s Day, after all). For more information, go here and here. Schedule for music is here. Houston’s amazing Discovery Green has announced its spring music lineup, and you’ll find Soulhat there on May 20. The weekly (through June) “Concerts on the Green,” are FREE. This is an early show: 6:30-8 p.m. Discovery Green is located across Avenida de las Americas from the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas Hotel. |
