This month, the Austin Chronicle will release the Austin Chronicle Music Anthology, a 336 page compilation of the best of the Chronicle’s music journalism. Along with the expected features on Austin artists like Roky Erickson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Daniel Johnston, you’ll also find plenty of tasty bits on Austin’s darker and stranger side – from The Butthole Surfers and FuckEmos to Ed Hall and Timbuk 3. We understand there is at least one piece about our very own Soulhat, as well.
If you’d like to learn more, you can check out the book’s Facebook page here and/or read an interview with co-editors Austin Powell and Doug Freeman in today’s Austinist (the Austinist also has an early review of the anthology). And if you’d like to order a copy for yourself, head on over to the Austin Chronicle Music Anthology order page at UT Press.
